HK BABY!!!

So i was called to my final city on Saturday.  I'm now serving in Hradec Kralove (pronounced like this: Hrad, the a makes an awe noise hrad-ets don't forget to roll your Rs, Kral again with the awe and the rolling R and the last part ove, it's like oh ve the e makes and egg e noise so Hrad-ets Kral-ove) it's my last 9 week transfer here before going home.  so it's going to be a good 9 weeks, HK is a good city, it's a college town, but we just ended the semester so that really has no benefit for us right now, but it's rather big anyway so it doesn't matter that the students are gone.

umm this week was fairly uneventful besides the packing and then the unpacking umm nothing else really big happened. we were playing soccer and one of our members got hurt and he kinda complained about it for a little then just continued playing, then he didn't show up at church today so turns out that he somehow broke a blood vessel and had internal bleeding so that was pretty intense.  

I had this really cool meeting with a man from England over lunch, he couldn't find anywhere to sit at this restaraunt so he sat with us, then we had a good long discussion about how the book of mormon came to be and how our church started that was a cool lesson.

ummm  ITS DA FINAL TRANSFERR DAH DAH DAH DAAAAAAAA DA da !!yeah #stoked

-HLAVA!!

so we got transferred!! i'm staying here in Jihlava, (you pronounce the J like a Y and the I like ee and the A like a dentist would make you) but yeah my new companion is from Mississippi so that's pretty cool, also yesterday I was made 1st counselor of the branch here in Jihlava, so that's pretty cool, i'm pretty excited to help out more around here!

Its kinda weird though, now that I'm a first counselor it's like a thing now, like I was in the Sunday School class for the youth, and usually we'd just go unnoticed if we were in a class like that. but the teacher was like "and i'd like to welcome Elder Petersen from the branch presidency we're glad to have his presence"

but it's also kinda cool because we'll have some general authorities come through so i'm hoping that i'll get to be in some leadership meetings with them that'd be cool.

other than that though, we had a pretty average week honestly. so i'm sorry If my emails are getting more and more boring like I've been here for 7 months about and so not that i'm in a rut but like nothing really new happens that much. I almost got in a fight hahah this guy, who was probably on something, was trying to convince me he was Jesus so I just agreed with him but he could obviously tell that I didn't believe it. haha it was nuts but yeah nothing happened.

WoW...What a Week

So on Monday the week started out normal, nothing much we got up, uh and took a bike ride, i already sent you a pic of that, also speaking of pictures, like my email said, that was the president of the Czech Republic, not Zlin haha. then after Monday, Tuesday happened.

it went well we had like 7 lessons, which is one of the better days on my missions so far, also we did an hour of service teachin autistic kids english. any way that night My companion gets a call from prez McConkie, telling him that he has been moved to the office and he's expected there on Thursday morning. so I'm all like cool, 2 more months in Zlin.

Wednesday, we had an amazing district meeting, i taught using this story that Coach Mac always showed us about a man learning how to be a business man. and then at the end, an amazing sister missionary, sister Roubíčková, who is leaving in a few days gave us words of advice on how to complete the things we're expected to do, it was so awesome.  then Wednesday night, Prez McConkie calls us again telling us when we need to be there, and I'm like, well we really need to be here for the weekend for lessons and for a concert on Saturday.  So he's like, ok, come in tomorrow evening so you can teach those people tomorrow because that's more important, oh and btw you won't be staying in Zlin.... so I'm like, oh, ok, well that means I'm blinding out haha!

Thursday was good, we had some lessons, and we prepped the city for brand new missionaries.  it was so much work, probably like 5 hours in total... smh then we went to Prague,

the next morning, president calls me, tells me I'm going to Jihlava this transfer. then, another office elder and I drive back home to Zlin.  we taught a few more lessons.  it was a good day.

the next day was Saturday. we had conference, watched it for 4 hours then high tailed it over to Uherske Hradiste where the sisters had a concert that we were singing in.  it was so So SO awesome! it was all about Jesus Christ, and what he did for us.  the sisters are just so amazing at singing, it went flawlessly! it was seriously just incredible, they had so much participation from the branch it was so cool!  then we watched the another session there with the sisters, and had some off the hook pizza!

Sunday, was great.  met with some people, played some scrabble, packed, watched conference, did more prep work for the new missionaries.

today, woke up, had a meeting early, then left at 8.00 got to Jihlava at 11 because of traffic, now I'm here.

It was a good week, so much to do so little time but just fantastic! I'm excited to be here in Jihlava. my new companion, Elder Pruden, he's in the same group as Elders Talbot and Pearce my former companions.  ¨

you know, i was thinking about conference, and the church is just true.

Transfers.

I got transferred to Zlin today!  so that's cool it's really hot today so i can't focus like it's like 33 Celsius 91.4 Fahrenheit , and it's humid here.

This week went so well though, it was a good week to blind out on, at first my companion was getting trunky and i was like, hey you're getting trunky and he's like, no i'm not, and i'm like yeah i had two other companions go home and yes you are.  After that he was just way focused missionary work all the time, because when i said he's getting trunky i think he realized how in a few days when he goes home he wont be a full time missionary and he didn't want to waste any of his remaining time here at all because he knows how important the work we do is and he knows how much it can change lives and how much it matters for people to know about.  What we do here as missionaries is so dang important, i don't think anyone who hasn't served a mission can fathom it, that's probably why the guy in general conference said that every member should read preach my gospel and I also told you guys to, so if you haven't' started yet, do it. because it's important, it will strengthen your testimony 10 fold like it has mine and then when the time arrives to share the gospel with someone, you'll have something to say, the spirit will guide you in the words which you speak, and you will be able to stand and testify of Truth.

     For those of you who don't completely have a testimony of something pertaining to salvation, and you're searching, go and pick yourself up a copy, of preach my gospel (Kažte evangelium mé) from pretty much any member should have one and, read the first few chapters and study them and you will gain a testimony of what you need to do and you will be testified to by the Holy ghost the things which you desire to know, of any testimony that is lacking in order to progress in the gospel or to progress personally.

The knowledge that i've learned from this book, paired with the scriptures is so immense i couldn't even begin to explain it to you all.

Early Transfers!!

So one of my companions got a call from president yesterday morning, and he moved to Jičín today! so that was pretty exciting.  Yup.

Also my birthday was yesterday!! i was so excited! i made a german pancake! it was so freaking good, we didn't have any syrup though, so i went with the healthier side of things and melted a chocolate bar and had that on it instead, it was good.  I got some amazing presents also from my friends here! so cool! opening those in the morning was probably the highlight of my week! they were just amazing!

Then i had a baptizm this week, well not me but i went to one from my old area, it was so awesome, this kid (23) was just so amazing, like when asked if he knows it's true he was just like no. i don't. but i believe most of it is true and what i don't believe is true i want it to be so badly so his missionaries promised him that everything that he doesn't know when he is baptized he'll gain a testimony of. And he did. and his baptism was so awesome and so spiritual for him, so was his confirmation at church! Really, just cool.

the rest of my week besides those three, points wasn't as important or exciting so yeah but i did go to Prague, so that was good, i also got my visa so i'm legal now.  Also i had zone conference, we watched a video, go watch it right now, it's called Because of Him ​it's in czech* and english, and it's like literally 3 mins and it's just amazing! so go check it out, but seriously go watch it guys.

Praha today baby!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ABBIE AND ADÉLA!! (and anyone else if it's your birthday and i forgot)

so today i'm in the great city of Prague doing haha ke$ha music just came on oh what's this song called, ... tik tok hahah alright so doing... oh yeah we're doing visa work here so that we can legally live here haha it went pretty well today no one really had a problem haha but like i don't understand why the people at the visa office just assume we understand czech, like i do but like there telling me all of this stuff while they're taking my fingerprints and it's just crazy the vocab they're using but i mean come on you work in an office where all the people you work with aren't from your country like? what you just expect that everyone speaks perfect czech? whatevs though the lady that i was with was really nice so it's all good and my visa is working.

any way now that i'm done with my rant for the day, my week has been a bit crazy, we had to move apartments which i will again have to do tomorrow. so that's just fantastic.  but besides moving last Monday we went to štramberk, i probably talked about that last week though. then the rest of the week was pretty rainy and windy so we did more inside stuff that needed to get done like move and clean our apartment. 

Sunday though was the best day, we woke up at 5 and had to get on a train at 6:45 but i was busy wrapping a present and i couldn't find rapping paper so we almost missed our train, and we were running to it and there was this huge escalator and the down was closed and so our only option was to run down the up escalator and it took so long, oh my heck it seemed like an eternity we were just running and i felt like we weren't moving at all then we got to the bottom eventually and we hauled like 400 yard sprint in suits, then down some stairs found our platform and came up the stairs just as the train came... whew i got tired just thinking about it. so then we took a train ride for 3 hours to Brno and it was so fun we had a good time on the train we told some stories of just random funny stuff but there was this sister in my district who's story takes the cake, it was hilarious.

so then we got to Brno and We had district conference, it's like stake conference, it was awesome, because i got to see all the people from Olomouc. And they're doing so well then. the conference was good, i got to sit between my two favorite people, it was a good time.  A general authority spoke and some presidency people, president mckonkie and the president of the frieberg temple spoke.  it was a really good conference though, i already said that 3 times but it was. but then afterwards i just got to hang out with some of my friends from oloumouc and some missionaries that i've served around, it was really fun.

then we had zone conference, and it was freaking cool they showed us a ted talk By Amy Cuddy about Body Language   It's really good, maybe only like 10-15 mins it'll change your life. not a joke. just go watch it.

​then i went to praha with the APs and ate dinner with his family, it was so good.  and then at the end they gave us this pinapple upside down cake that president made... so freaking good. but his family is so funny haha it just reminded me of home haha it was a good meal time. Then i stayed the night with the office elders and did visa work this morning.

It was a good week, my lessons this week were going super well, we had 2 lessons where we set baptismal dates for our investigators and like at first they're like umm i don't know i don't really want to set up a date for it like kinda i guess they just think it'll happen... but like i mean you can't just get baptized it's not as easy as that, but we had some members in both of our lessons for baptismal dates and they just told the story of how they got baptized and one of them had been an investigator for over a year, but he refused to set up a date, and he knew so much about the church and he really liked meeting with us and had some good friends in the branch but, he said that the sisters who were teaching him just told him you got to set up a date, and by that time God will, if you put forth the effort, show you what is truth.  and so he did it and now he's baptized and just has the strongest testimony... Goals are important, if you don't have a goal then you can do a bunch of tasks, at least in the gospel, but if God sees that you don't have a goal then he can't do nearly as much for you.   So anyway now we have two investigators who will be baptized next month right before they go to England. and they're pretty strong and intelligent people, so it'll be good. but a plan with no goal is like a race with no finishing line, you'll run forever and ever and you'll get stronger but until you have a goal you'll just keep running.

This church is God's church, people. It really is. The book of Mormon is true.  this week with 2 of our investigators we read 2 Nephi 33:10-12, Nephi says if you believe in Christ you'll believe in these words and vice-verse.  also we read with them 2 Nephi 25:26 - all we do in this church is glorify Christ and what he did for us. 
this truly is Christ's church on the earth today. I know it.
